Prospect Community Garden

A place to grow food, share a love of gardening, participate in healthy outdoor recreation and be involved in a local environmental project.

Prospect residents are welcome to get involved in our local community garden, whether you are a beginner or experienced green thumb. Community members work together to grow vegetables, fruit, herbs, flowers & indigenous plants.

Activities at the garden over the past two years have included workshops on environmental topics such as composting, organic gardening and worm farms. Our gardeners are also interested in creative recycling and garden art. Gardeners work to their own physical capability and a variety of interests and roles are catered for.

The garden is open every week on Tuesday and Saturday mornings. During the winter months opening times are 9am-12pm Tuesdays and 10am-12pm Saturdays.

The Community Garden is located on the western side of Prospect Memorial Gardens, off Willcox Avenue, Prospect (near the tennis courts). Visitors are also welcome during opening times. Community groups are welcome to visit by appointment.

Any questions?
If you would like to be involved please phone Alan on 0432 970 466 or Lindy on 0448 580 342 or drop in to a session.

The Prospect Community Garden is an initiative of Prospect Local Environment Group (PLEG), formerly known as Prospect Residents’ Energy Forum for Environmental Responsibility Inc.(PREFER)
