Street Sweeping
Council provides street sweeping services throughout the year to keep our streets looking clean, safe and tidy for our community to enjoy.
Council operates its own street sweeper and on average collects approximately 425 tonnes of waste material annually with much of the debris recycled into high-quality compost.
Our programs are developed to balance the removal of accumulated leaf and road litter, aesthetics, capacity and cost of delivery.
Calendar
After successfully trialling a calendar to assist residents identify when their street will be swept, we will now be publishing the intended dates for the year below.
While we make every effort to adhere to the street sweeping calendar timeframes, at times services may be impacted by:
- Climate and seasonal variations
- Vehicle and equipment breakdowns
- Staff absences
- Access issues
- Emergency Events
What you can do
To help keep the program on track, please:
- Check the calendar to determine when your street is due to be swept
- Where possible, refrain from parking your car/s on the street
- Avoid sweeping leaves into piles
