Youth Parliament
The YMCA South Australian Youth Parliament program is a non-partisan youth empowerment program providing a platform for young people aged 15-25 to voice their views on important issues, build leadership skills, parliamentary understanding, and learn about democracy.
Youth Parliament focuses on personal development, empowering young people to be advocates for their community, and to seek change by connecting youth voices and opinions with politicians and decision makers.
The program will provide a platform for young people to have a say on important issues, build skills and parliamentary understanding, and connect with politicians and decision makers.
We are seeking expressions of interest from residents and local school students to participate in Youth Parliament from April to July this year.
It includes mentoring, a training weekend, and a week-long camp including access to Parliament House. You will work as part of a team to prepare a Bill on a topic of your choice and present it at Parliament House to those that have the power to influence change.
