Payinthi (128 Prospect Road, Prospect), including Council offices, Prospect Library and Newmarch Gallery, will close on Thursday 25 April 2024 for the ANZAC Day Public Holiday.

Calls made to Council on 8269 5355 will be transferred to our after-hours service centre, but our online services will still be available, and items (excluding large toys) can be returned in our after-hours return chute on Prospect Road.

All Council services will resume on Friday 26 April 2024.

Venues and Hire Spaces

City of Prospect provides a range of community venues, meeting rooms and other facilities for hire.

This includes facilities such as the heritage listed Eliza Hall, our open green spaces in Barker Gardens and Prospect Memorial Gardens, or even our Tirkanthi Kuu boardroom for professional functions.

All hireable Council facilities, including upcoming availability and rates, are available to view online at SpacetoCo.

Located in the heart of Prospect, Payinthi (meaning good prospects) houses our Council services, Prospect Library, Eliza Hall (Prospect's original town hall), Newmarch Gallery, our local history collection, as well as various meeting rooms and versatile spaces for study, work and socialising.

Our meeting room, function areas, and the impressive event space facing Prospect Road are available for both regular and one-off events.

We can accommodate everything from small meetings to larger functions, catering for up to 120 people.

If you're on a budget, we also offer small meeting rooms at Payinthi at no cost during Prospect Library opening hours (9am-8pm Monday to Friday, and 10am-4pm Saturday). Head to Broadview Meeting Room, Nailsworth Meeting Room or Dingley Dell Meeting Room for study, work or meetings for up to 10 people. These rooms are available for a maximum of 2 hours and can be booked up to 7 days in advance.

This popular community hall, nestled in a quiet street near RL Pash Reserve, is perfect for various community activities, social gatherings and meetings.

The hall features a kitchen, tables and chairs, air-conditioning, and off-street parking.

Kumungka at Broadview

Opening in 2024, the Broadview Community and Sports Hub provides flexible and accessibly function rooms in the eastern corner of our city.

The Jack Tredrea MM Function Room is perfect for larger functions such as birthdays and events. This space can accommodate 200 seated or 280 for a cocktail/standing event and comes equipped with a full bar and kitchen facilities.

The Brenton Costello Function Room offers seating for 30 or standing room for 50, with catering options available. This room is well-suited for community use, including meetings and workshops.

Parks and reserves

Our parks and reserves are free to access, providing playgrounds, barbeques and facilities for activities like tennis and skateboarding.

Certain spaces within the parks are available for booking for a small hourly charge, perfect for birthday parties, celebrations, weddings and events.
