Council seeking solutions for future parking and attendance at Prospect Oval

2nd April 2024

On Good Friday, residents and visitors to Prospect celebrated the Men’s SANFL Opening round at Prospect Oval.

The conditions were perfect, and the community came out in force to support the North Adelaide Roosters as they took on Central Districts. Whilst they did not come up with their first win, Council appreciates everybody who made the effort to attend and enjoy the day, with the largest crowd at Prospect Oval attending since COVID.

City of Prospect acknowledges that during this time concerns were raised regarding parking, particularly the absence of designated drop off and pick up zones.

We thank the community and its representatives for all the feedback that has been received so far and want to reassure you that all feedback has been taken on board. Mayor Matt Larwood and CEO Chris White have met this morning to discuss this issue, and are currently investigating potential options to ease with the drop-off and pick-up issues that were experienced on the weekend.  Subsequently, the Mayor has foreshadowed a Motion on Notice for the April Council meeting, to review and investigate safe improvements and opportunities for drop off and pick up at Prospect Oval.

Council is committed to finding a way to ensure that all attendees have an enjoyable experience when attending Prospect Oval events, from the instant they arrive at the ground to the moment they make the journey home.

Council has a review process for disputing parking fines. Please head here for further information.
