New Vibes

New Vibes is a radio training program offered by City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters and Three D Radio in association with Cities of Prospect, Burnside, Campbelltown and Unley.

The training provides young people aged 18 – 25 years with a toolbox of skills and knowledge that can be utilised in a range of industries. Expressions of interest are welcomed from Prospect youth to join the team!

Successful applicants will be supported and mentored to deliver a weekly live-to-air radio show from 4pm – 5pm each Thursday. Participants will take part in a six month program and gain hands-on media and broadcasting skills including program preparation, live on-air presentation, technical production and gain lifelong skills such as working in a team, problem solving, time management and communication.

Positions are voluntary and participants are expected to pay a small membership fee of $85 or $65 concession to Three D Radio prior to commencing. The membership pack includes:

  • Entitles the holder to apply for their own radio show or to collaborate on an existing show.
  • Members have access to Three D Radio’s facilities (studios, libraries, computers, sound-editing systems) via 24/7 electronic access pass.
  • Members have voting rights in the Progressive Music Broadcasting Association and can be involved in governance, administration and policies at Three D Radio.
  • Members are allocated a membership card which entitles them to discounts at many stores and other businesses including the Mercury Cinema.
  • Three D Radio sticker.

An additional $300 fee is usually charged for completing essential training required to present live to air, but this fee is waived for young people that live, work, study or volunteer in City of Prospect.
