COVID-19 update

City of Prospect has taken a number of important and proactive steps to protect our community and staff as we face this unprecedented situation of the global COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic and the nationwide Public Health Emergency.

We need to take all reasonable steps available to protect our community, our Elected Members, our staff and volunteers (and their families) against the spread of this infection while ensuring we deliver services as close to ‘business as usual’ as possible.

Collection Schedule

When is my bin being picked up?

  • a red-lidded bin (140 litres) for general waste
  • a yellow-lidded bin (240 litres) for recycling
  • a green-lidded bin (240 litres) for green organics and food waste
  • up to 3 bookable hard waste collections per financial year.

General waste is collected weekly, and recycling and green organics are collected fortnightly (on alternate weeks).

Missed bin day?

Get in touch with East Waste to arrange collection. Download the free My Local Services app to receive bin collection reminders on your device.

East Waste also manages the delivery of new bins for new properties, additional bin requests and bin repair and replacement for City of Prospect – contact East Waste to organise this service for you. You can also contact East Waste to take away any unwanted or excess bins as well as to report uncollected bins or enquire about collection areas and collection days.
