Waste Disposal and Recycling

City of Prospect is committed to providing you with the best waste, recycling and green organic services and effective waste management services for our community.

Council uses a three-bin system. This reduces environmental impact by sorting waste.

The local community also plays an important role. By utilising the waste, recycling, and green organic services properly, we can all minimise the amount of waste that goes to landfill.

Council produces an online Waste Collection Calendar. This identifies collection days for specific bins and their collection weeks.

View the calendar here.

For more information on changes to collections such as Public Holidays, visit East Waste's website.

As well as the three-bin system, Council supplies every resident with a Kitchen Organics Basket and 150 compostable (corn starch) bin liners for the collection of food scraps. These can be disposed of in the green waste bin. If residents run out of bags before the next scheduled delivery, additional bags can be collected from Customer Service at Payinthi (128 Prospect Road) subject to available stock.
