Devonport Terrace Streetscape Upgrade

Devonport Terrace forms the western boundary of City of Prospect and is 2km in length. The streetscape will be designed and upgraded in the 2020/21 Financial Year, based on feedback received from the community regarding the top priorities of concern along the street.

The objective of the upgrade is to create a streetscape that is both functional in terms of vehicle, cyclist and pedestrian access and is aesthetically pleasing in terms of vegetation and water sensitive urban design.

The upgrade will include:

  • Kerbing treatments along western edge of street
  • Incorporate Water Sensitive Urban Design treatments where feasible in the larger verge areas which may assist in stormwater management
  • Landscaping
  • The provision of indented car parking implemented in strategic locations, e.g. near train stations
  • Incorporate public art
  • Improve lighting and safety for pedestrians exiting train stations

Draft design plans were prepared and have been presented to Council at the 3 November 2020 Workshop. The draft plans are currently being updated to reflect the feedback received from Council, and another Workshop is scheduled for December 2020. Community consultation on the draft plan will follow on from the December Council Workshop.

The Council Workshop agendas can be found here.
