This catalytic project will be 'a first' for any arterial road in South Australia. It is much more than a main street project. In conjunction with Development Plan Amendments, this streetscape upgrade will inspire significant private property development, infill development opportunities and create a new destination within the capital city of Adelaide.
Key features of this major infrastructure project include the following:
Council has received $1.1m additional funding from the State Government towards this project.
Parking along Prospect Road will be restricted during the works, however there is ample parking in public carparks to the rear of shops and in side streets. A map of such locations can be downloaded here.
Please note that Council will retain existing trees wherever possible, other than those currently located in the central median strip that were planted with the capacity to be relocated.
City of Prospect will be producing weekly updates in regards to the redeveloment and works taking place through the village heart of Prospect Road.
