Matthews Reserve Upgrade

What: Open space upgrade in accordance with our Open Space Strategy.

Status: Project completed
After two rounds of community consultation to identify the most appropriate design for our commuity, we're excited to announce that the Matthews Reserve upgrade is now finished.
The upgrade included:
- New play equipment including an all accessible basket swing and nature play elements
- Shade sails
- A small cycle track
- New tennis court fencing, with the introduction of a public 'book-a-court' system to allow our community to use the tennis courts outside of club hours (Tuesdays and Saturdays)
- New seating, picnic setting and shelter
- DDA compliant paths
- Expanded grassy areas
- New irrigation, additional plantings including trees and garden beds.
Official Opening - 20 September 2026
We opened the newly upgraded Matthews Reserve with a community event featuring live music, free BBQ, free coffee and cupcakes, and live mural painting.
