Parks and Reserves
Our parks and gardens in City of Prospect
Open space areas play an important role in the lifestyle of our families as well as the positive impact they have on the amenity of our City. As such, council remains committed to maintaining these beautiful parks and recreational facilities for everyone to enjoy. For members of the public using our parks and reserves for gatherings and events, we suggest bringing a garbage bag to clean the site after you have used it. Please take responsibility for removing excess rubbish to avoid bin overflow.
Public barbecues are available for use in many reserves throughout the City. They are available free of charge, on a first come first served basis.
If you see a light in one of our parks that is broken or not working, please contact us so that we can fix the problem.
Playgrounds are provided in many reserves throughout City of Prospect. Equipment provided ranges from small scale junior play areas to larger "adventure" playgrounds. They are regularly inspected and maintained by Council's staff to ensure their safety.
There is a Skate Park at George Whittle Reserve, 54-56 Churchill Road, Prospect. It is close to Ovingham railway station and bus stop number 8A on Churchill Road. There is a public telephone nearby.

There is a Cycle Fun Track at Broadview Oval, on the corner of McInnes Avenue and Myponga Terrace. It consists of a series of landscaped mounds no higher than 1.2 metres, suitable for 8 to 14 year old bike riders.
It is part of the Broadview Oval Recreation Complex and is next to an All Users Playground.
