Social Outings and Events
What is it?
Social outings and events are coordinated by our qualified team members with the assistance of dedicated, trained volunteers. Outings are organised for you to maintain a connection within your community, while enjoying the company of others. You may like to attend movies or live performances or perhaps visit areas you may not have been to for a while.
These are just some examples of the outings and events the team arranges –
Hotel Lunches
Have a break from the kitchen! Come along to enjoy a lunch time meal at various hotels to savour different menu options as we head out to out the hills, beachside and metropolitan venues.
Movies
If you enjoy new released movies or even the classic ‘oldies’ you’ll find the movie sessions an enjoyable day out at the iconic Regal, Piccadilly and Mt Barker Cinemas.
Live Performances
If you enjoy the atmosphere of a live performance by talented professional artists on stage, then come along to Port Noarlunga and Murray Bridge Town Halls. The day out will include time for a bite to eat and a stroll around these beachside and country towns.
Tours
These ‘tours’ might take you to the Dunluce Castle in Brighton, Carrick Hill at Springfield, the Adelaide Oval and Parliament House in town, perhaps to the hills visiting the Gilbert’s Motor Museum in Strathalbyn or the Maritime Museum at the Port. There’s bound to be a venue of interest and something new to learn on these enjoyable outings.
Shopping Experiences
If you are after that special ‘something’ and would like to explore shops further afield than your local shopping centre, then these outings might be just what you need. You may be interested in heading to Ikea, out to West Lakes, Norwood, the Central Market or even some ‘op shops’ - and you don’t even need to shop! We won’t mind if you come along to have a day out to ‘watch the world go by’ over a coffee or lunch at these varied locations.
Outings / Experiences
If you are wanting to explore towns and places you haven’t been to for a while, these outings will have you enjoying not only the trip there but the locations once you arrive. We’ll have you heading up to the hills to Willunga, Tanunda and wineries, a day at the beach that could include Glenelg, Henley Beach, Semaphore or Victor Harbor and even locally to Waterfall Gully or the Royal Adelaide Show.

For the team to book you into an upcoming outing or event you need a Social Support Group referral from My Aged Care or your assessor - please choose Prospect Community Support as your service provider.
If you already have the Social Support Group referral, contact the team on 8342 8091 to book yourself in to the outings and events you’re interested in.
