The Team Leader – Library Programs contributes to the strategic direction of a library service that is a resource of information, learning, recreation, innovation and discovery. Reporting to the Manager Library Services, this position leads and co-ordinates the programming, outreach and events of the Prospect Public Library

Key responsibilities:
This role presents an exciting opportunity for the right individual to lead the delivery of innovative library programs out of a brand new library/civic facility on Prospect Road.

The preferred candidate will be a flexible and team-oriented person who is willing to lead library program development and delivery with a level of innovation, creativity and flair that reflects the characteristics and desires of the Prospect community.

Your previous experience will equip you with a well-developed understanding about the importance of targeted and community led programming, and quality customer service that is welcoming, responsive and inclusive.

Selection Criteria:    
The right individual will have significant skills/experience in the following areas:
•    Tertiary qualifications in Library and Information Services or equivalent in an allied field
•    The ability to lead a team, particularly in a busy/high pressure work environment that is going through significant change
•    Knowledge of public library industry trends, particularly in programming and events
•    Experience in the planning, coordination, delivery and supervision of library, community or educational programming
•    Extensive experience in library and/or customer service environments and an active working knowledge of customer service principles
