E-Waste Recycling

City of Prospect is committed to reducing waste to landfill, especially it’s Electronic Waste (E-Waste) recycling program. This program is aimed at encouraging you to recycle your unwanted electronic waste rather than sending these items to landfill.

E-Waste is one of the fastest growing waste streams in Australia. Historically E-waste has been sent to landfill, however there are many reasons why this practice is undesirable. E-waste contains valuable and rare materials such as gold and copper which can be recovered and reused. It also contains a range of hazardous materials that can be potentially damaging to the environment if not disposed of correctly.

Under the Product Stewardship Act 2011, The National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme (the Scheme) has been established and provides Australian householders and small business with access to free collection and recycling services for televisions and computers.

Items that will be accepted for free include:
• Televisions analogue, LCD, flat screens
• Computer monitors
• Computer towers
• Printers, scanners, keyboards, mice

Other items may be subject to a small fee.

There are now 13 sites established in South Australia that enable members of the community to dispose of the televisions, computers and computer peripherals for free. Drop-off locations include:

Beverley Waste and Recycling Centre
2-6 Toogood Avenue, Beverley
Open Monday to Saturday 8am - 4pm, Sunday 8am-1pm, closed on Public Holidays
Phone: 8408 1350
