Justice of the Peace
Local Justices of the Peace volunteer their time to provide a free JP service to the community at Payinthi, 128 Prospect Road, Prospect.
No bookings necessary but to help with your appointment:
- Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the end of the session
- Bring appropriate identification as the JP will be required to confirm your identity
- Ensure that you have the original documents in order to have copies certified
- In case you require photocopying services, please bring a debit/credit card as we only accept EFTPOS payments.

Reducing Waiting Times
Our drop-in Justice of the Peace (JP) service is available for those who have no more than 10 pages that need witnessing. Each person is provided with approximately 5 minutes, ensuring that no one needs to wait too long.
If you have complex or multiple documents that need witnessing, such as Advance Care Directives, and require more than 5 minutes, your service may be interrupted once or twice as you will be asked to re-join the queue while others receive assistance.
