Join Aboriginal cultural consultant and artist Nikki Carabetta for a unique weaving workshop.

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. This year's theme, Bridging Now to Next, reflects the ongoing connection between past, present and future.

Nikki is an artist with Yamaji and Brinkin/ Ngangikurrunggurr heritage. She predominantly works with acrylic paint on canvas and wood and regards art as a means to maintain and share her culture.

Nikki has been weaving for over 20 years using the coil method. In this workshop participants will be using raffia and wool to make a bracelet using traditional techniques.

This workshop will be held in the Irish Harp room and is suitable for ages 8+. Children under 12 should be accompanied by parents. Book quickly as space is limited available.

We look forward to learning together and creating pathways toward reconciliation with the Prospect Community.
