Description | Mona's lived experience led her to undertake a Masters in Autism. She joins us to share her story and answer questions along the way. Mona Jamshaid is an educator, autism advocate, consultant and most importantly a mother to a beautiful autistic child. In this session, she talks about her lived experience of going through the diagnostic journey of her son and the post diagnostic support and intervention. With a background in business administration and information systems, her personal connection to autism led her to do Masters in Autism Studies from Griffith University after completing a Graduate Diploma in Autism Studies. She writes and advocates for autistic individuals and provides consultation on early intervention programs for autistic children. She believes spreading community awareness and education about autism is an important step to increase acceptability of autistic individuals in the society. This session is not to be missed if you or someone you love is considering the diagnosis process, or if you simply want a better understanding of what it means to be neurodivergent. This talk is suitable for people interested in knowing about autism and autistic individuals. *Note this talk provides general information.
