City of Prospect has taken a number of important and proactive steps to protect our community and staff as we face this unprecedented situation of the global COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic and the nationwide Public Health Emergency.

We need to take all reasonable steps available to protect our community, our Elected Members, our staff and volunteers (and their families) against the spread of this infection while ensuring we deliver services as close to ‘business as usual’ as possible.

The new concrete skate park is officially open and is ready to experience!

The Prospect skate park and surrounds received a comprehensive makeover this year and the skate park was extended to meet the needs of local skaters, BMX and scooter riders.

To celebrate the project’s completion, an event has been organised on Sunday 20 October from 10am – 2pm at George Whittle Reserve – 59 Churchill Road, Prospect to provide the local community with an opportunity to experience the new park, play equipment and courts in all of its glory!

Bring your family, friends, bikes, blades, boards and safety equipment for an epic day out!

This free event will include skate coaching clinics and demos, street sports, DJ + BBQ, official ribbon cutting ceremony, fun games and prizes!

Open Day schedule:

9:30am – 11.30am: Street basketball, presented by North Adelaide Basketball Club.

10:00am – 11:00am: Skateboard coaching clinic #1 (all ages) presented by YMCA Action Sports.

11:00am – 11:30am: DJ + free skate session.

11:30am – 2:00pm: Street soccer, presented by One Culture Football.

11:30am – 12:00pm: Skateboarding and BMX demos, presented by Daily Grind and Little Black Bike.

12:00pm – 12:30pm: Official opening (ribbon cutting ceremony).

12.30pm – 1:00pm: Community games + prizes (game of skate, best trick comp, jam session).

1:00pm – 2:00pm: Skateboard coaching clinic #2 (all ages)
