Davies Terrace Streetscape Upgrade

Davies Terrace is a 240m stretch of road, running between Main North Road and Emilie Street in the suburb of Nailsworth.

As part of Council’s regular footpath renewal program, the footpaths along Davies Terrace are due for replacement. The footpath and crossovers on the southern side of Davies Terrace will be replaced with new pavers as part of this program.

Davies Terrace

The footpath on the northern side of Davies Terrace was assessed and determined that in some locations it would not achieve a compliant crossfall where some of the crossovers are located, due to the varying existing ground levels. As a result, Council developed a proposal for removing the northern footpath altogether and landscaping the entire area. The landscaping will showcase Council’s ‘green’ initiatives with Water Sensitive Urban Design principles applied, and planting native shrubs similar to those that we have recently given away to residents as part of Council’s ‘Native Plant Giveaway’.

After consultation with the adjacent residents and an overwhelming support for the project, we have finalised the design and awarded the tender. Construction will begin on 30 January and be completed by the end of March 2023. Residents on the street will be notified of updates regarding construction.
