Bougainvillea Lane Upgrade

Snapshot

Address: Bougainvillea Lane (in between Rose and Myrtle Streets)

Ward: Central Ward.

What: Drain and road pavement/reseal works.

Dates: 20 March to 6 April 2023, 7am-5pm, Monday to Saturday.

Description: Laneway will be closed whilst road reconstruction works are in progress to upgrade stormwater and resurface road. Expect changes to temporary car parking along Rose Street.

Project Updates

From 20 March to 6 April 2023, we will be applying a temporary 24/7
2-hour parking zone along Rose Street (residential parking permits exempt).

No changes have been made to the Briar Lane public carpark (behind shops such as Cotto, Leo’s Pizza, etc.).

Alternative arrangements have been made for contractor parking along Braund Road (weekday site operation only). This will help reduce some impact to the Village Heart high demand parking areas.

We apologise for the temporary impact while these capital works are undertaken. Thank you in advance for your patience during these important works.

The upgrade drain and road works are scheduled for the 22 March to 6 April, with construction occurring between 7am-5pm, Monday to Saturday, weather permitting.

Bougainvillea Lane will be temporarily closed for the full three weeks during construction.

Thank you in advance for your patience during these important works.

Project background

We will be reconstructing Bougainvillea Lane, which has been identified for upgrade based upon condition assessments and required improvement to stormwater and road surfacing.

The works include construction of a concrete drain along the full length of the laneway, reconstructing the road pavement and resealing the road surface.

These works form a part of our 2022/2023 financial year’s Capital Works Program, where we are investing $4.4M across transport infrastructure renewals, as well as $39m over the next 10 years.

The repair of basic infrastructure is key to keeping our streets safe for residents and visitors, whilst resulting in better roads and improved drainage by directing stormwater from the road into the underground drainage network.

Please contact Council on 8269 5355 for any additional enquiries.
