Coronavirus update – Prospect response

City of Prospect has taken a number of important and proactive steps to protect our community and staff as we face this unprecedented situation of the global COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic and the nationwide Public Health Emergency.

We need to take all reasonable steps available to protect our community, our Elected Members, our staff and volunteers (and their families) against the spread of this infection while ensuring we deliver services as close to ‘business as usual’ as possible. Put simply, our staff are looking to ‘step up, rather than step back’ as we confront these challenges together.

The core of our intent with any response to COVID-19 is to preserve service delivery to our community, and to do so safely.

Services and Events

As we monitor and learn more about the spread of Coronavirus in our state, we want to provide as much clarity to our community on what steps we are taking to protect our residents, businesses, visitors and our employees.

We are still currently operating our customer service desk from Payinthi on Prospect Road, however, we may be subject to closure at any time. Rest assured, our business continuity planning guarantees we will be able to maintain essential services, but we may not be able to provide face-to-face services or access to Council facilities during the pandemic.  As the situation changes, we will update the information on this page.

If members of the Council staff are subject to quarantine or lockdown for any period, please be aware that some parts of the business may be affected. We ask for your understanding and patience should this occur.

City of Prospect is taking the proactive step of cancelling all non-essential gatherings of people in order to reduce the spread of infection and to keep the vulnerable members of our community safe.  As such, regular Council programming and events have been suspended for an undetermined period. Our Prospect Library and other public access areas of Payinthi are also closed.

Please check our Services and Events page below for regular updates.
