Volunteering is a great way to achieve satisfaction and pride for helping others within our community. Volunteers also play a vital and valuable role in the delivery of services to City of Prospect. There are a few ways you can volunteer at the Prospect Library.
Toy Library Volunteers
The Prospect Toy Library is a wonderful initiative that enables families and caregivers with pre-school aged children to borrow a varied collection of high quality toys and activities. The Toy Library relies heavily on the generous support of our volunteers who assist library staff in offering this service.
This vibrant, community run service is an integral part of City of Prospect's Community Programs and has been serving the community for over 25 years.
Digital Help Technology Tutors
If you have experience using a wide range of technology and can commit to a roster/schedule for a minimum of 6 months, we would love to have you help out as a volunteer with our Digital Help Technology tutoring sessions.
Tutors assist with the delivery of one-on-one training session for those who are wanting help with technology, i.e. personal computer, internet, emails, tablet, smart phone etc.
Story Time Facilitator
Every Friday morning, volunteers and Library staff deliver story time to pre-school aged children (reading children’s picture books followed by a related craft session). These sessions are planned in advance with Library staff and volunteers collaborating to create a joyous occasion for children, parents, and care-givers.
Experience and/or qualifications in early childhood development is an advantage, but not essential.
