COVID-19 update

City of Prospect has taken a number of important and proactive steps to protect our community and staff as we face this unprecedented situation of the global COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic and the nationwide Public Health Emergency.

We need to take all reasonable steps available to protect our community, our Elected Members, our staff and volunteers (and their families) against the spread of this infection while ensuring we deliver services as close to ‘business as usual’ as possible.

10 Gig Reasons to Invest in Prospect

We've joined the Gig City Network!

City of Prospect has joined the State Government project, the GigCity Adelaide network, connecting Prospect at gigabit speeds to the global GigCity Adelaide network.

Minister for Industry and Skills, David Pisoni officially launched the GigCity network in September 2018 and it went live in March 2019 (click here for videos from the launch).

New Prospect Economic Analysis identifies strong growth in lifestyle businesses and knowledge workers who will benefit from the high data capacity of both nbn and GigCity connectivity.

‘We were one of the first councils to recognise the importance of emerging technologies and the positive impact they have on our community and its local economy. The GigCity Adelaide network will be essential to attract high end, data intensive businesses, such as defence and multimedia,’ said Mayor David O’Loughlin.

Innovation Precinct

The GigCity network is underpinned and powered by SABRENet, while Escapenet was engaged by the Government to roll out the network to individual precincts. Prospect Road now has the essential ingredients of a Prospect Innovation Precinct, building on the success of the existing co-working spaces on Prospect Road.

  • Little City co-working studio at 118 Prospect Road
  • Business Hub serviced offices at 110-112 Prospect Road

SABRENet is a not-for-profit arm of the universities, but has recently changed its constitution to enable it to connect to innovation precincts, like Prospect.

10 Gig Reasons to Invest in Prospect

10 Gig Reasons to Invest in Prospect is our new Investment Attraction Strategy which explains City of Prospect’s economic development focus away from apartment-led revitalisation to both apartment and commercial development.

GigCity connectivity is a big part of that shift as it will attract high data needs companies that seek to be at the centre of a bustling, business and café culture. It is the perfect location for larger scale companies, local professionals and home based businesses alike.

Prospect has the highest data speeds with the best talent pool in Adelaide and the eastern suburbs, plus the coffee and the lifestyle. We look forward to your investment in our new Innovation Precinct.

There are the four commercial sectors that Council’s Economic Investment Attraction Strategy focuses on:

  1. Health Sector – Corporate Office location
  2. Technology Advertising Media and Information (TAMI) - Great location for new media
  3. Defence/Security– cross roads of Northern Adelaide and Maritime Precinct
  4. Apartment Development – Best housing and apartment opportunities in SA
