Volunteering

City of Prospect recognises that volunteers play an important and valuable part in our community. Where volunteers are engaged with Council activities, we strive to provide volunteers with the opportunity to be a part of a team where they feel valued and appreciated

There are many opportunities for volunteers to be involved throughout our City. We believe that volunteers who donate their time and skills to assist the community should be provided with the right support and resources where appropriate.

People often volunteer for many different reasons, including…

  • Enjoyment
  • Improving the community
  • Personal satisfaction
  • Developing social networks
  • Gaining work experience
  • Utilising untapped skills
  • Learning new skills
  • Building self-confidence and self esteem
  • Enjoying the contact they get with other people
  • Maintaining existing skills
  • Satisfaction of work
  • Meeting new challenges
  • Enhancing responsibility
  • Enhancing a curriculum vitae (increasing employability)
  • Opening new job networks
