Social Programs

Prospect Community Support’s Social Programs provide eligible residents with a chance to socialise in a friendly atmosphere.

All programs offered are subject to availability, eligibility, priority of services and funding.  All social programs incur a donation/charge and require advance bookings.

Prospect Community Support’s Social Programs include:

  • Exercise Groups - Gentle mobility and exercise classes run by qualified professional instructors from Uniting Communities. Classes held on Mondays at Prospect and Walkerville.
  • Strength For Life - This program promotes health and wellbeing for persons over the age of 50 years using strength training based exercises run by qualified professional instructors through COTA. Classes are held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
  • Collinswood Friendship Group – Held on Mondays weekly, this group enjoys a pleasant afternoon engaging in activities that include indoor carpet bowls, card games and afternoon tea.
  • Prospect Friendship Group – A weekly group on Wednesdays for people who enjoy activities that include bingo, cards, entertainment and organised outings.
  • Seniors Group – This weekly program held on Thursdays is a pleasant afternoon which includes indoor bowls and afternoon tea.
  • Lunch Group – The Lunch Group meets once a month on a Monday to enjoy lunch at different hotels and restaurants throughout Adelaide.
  • Central Market Shopping – Travel into the city for an afternoon of exploring the markets in Adelaide:   shopping, purchasing a variety of fresh produce and enjoying the vibrant atmosphere.
  • Men’s Shed – The Men’s Shed meets weekly on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, having morning tea and lunch whilst working on various woodwork projects.
  • Zoo Group – This group travels on a monthly basis to explore the Adelaide and Monarto Zoos.
  • Community Lunch - A friendly, social lunch on the first Thursday of each month that includes a three course meal and live entertainment.

These programs do not operate on public holidays, and many offer door to door transport for residents of City of Prospect or Town of Walkerville.
