You are invited to attend the Mayor’s Disability Consultative Forum

Importantly, Council’s Disability Action Plan is due for review. A key principle of this Plan is the concept of universal accessibility which reinforces the requirement that the Council provides accessible infrastructure to accommodate for everyone’s abilities and supports cultural acceptance of our diverse communities.

Council’s Disability Action Plan provides for a definition of disability as follows:

  • Physical
  • Intellectual
  • Psychiatric
  • Sensory
  • Neurological
  • Learning disabilities
  • Physical disfigurement
  • The presence in the body of disease-causing organisms.

Hosted by our Mayor David O’Loughlin, a number of key Council staff will be in attendance at the Forum to participate within an open discussion to better understand the needs of our residents and to inform a review of our Disability Action Plan.
