The Inner Metropolitan Growth Development Plan Amendment (IMG DPA) is being led by the Minister for Planning, who has drafted the changes in partnership with Council. The areas covered by the proposed changes are located on or near Prospect Road, Main North Road, Churchill Road and Devonport Terrace.

The proposed changes would allow for changes in building heights, a greater mix of uses (such as housing, shops, restaurants and offices) and more vibrant main roads. The proposed changes also includes policies to manage issues such as traffic, noise, overshadowing, and building design.

Consultation on the draft IMG DPA has ended

Council’s consultation on the IMG DPA closed on the 25 January 2013, with a substantial number of responses received via Council’s survey and through written submissions. The responses were used to inform Council’s feedback to the State Government on the proposed changes.

Formal consultation on the DPA was managed by the Development Policy Advisory Committee (DPAC), an independent statutory committee which provides advice to the Minister on planning and development issues.

Now that the consultation process has ended, the DPAC will consider the submissions and subsequently make recommendations to the Minister on the proposed changes to the Development Plan.

A copy of all submissions received by the DPAC is available online.
